My Name Is Difference

Sometimes I feel like I'm standing on the edge of the world screaming out loud; however I'm making no more noise than the others who are standing with me. I woke up in the morning thinking it was going to be another nice but ordinary day. With everything going my way. I see faces and places and try to fit through the tighter spaces, of what I hold as truth. Just seperate the ryhme from the madness and well, thats me! Socially strickin, with no particular class to belong to or fit in is where I keep my dwelling. Akward to me is balance and alone I build my palace, of peace. Disturbed oh so easily and checking my work you'll find me doing repeatedly. My mistakes are my burden and I find my greatest joy is in undoing the wrongs of those in my past, I may have left hurting! Sadly love has forgotten my name and left me the whole world to blame. But I won't! In its place has formed an idea. Love is patient, love is kind. Hell love is an action; but hang on tight because I have a reaction. In the absence of love there is still difference. It's just an idea but difference is what drives you in every way. Sometimes just to get off your pillow and make a better day than yesterday! If I had to describe myself in just one word. I'd say, "My name is difference".

Finals Week One

It's no doubt that finals and midterms have always managed to end up as one of the toughest parts of the school year. There was a time in my school career where I too was faced with a major academic obstacle. It was time for the biggest final of the year and our teacher had previously announced that our test was going to be an open book one. I felt an extreme sense of relief however, at the last minute our teacher had managed to change their mind and as of that moment text books would no longer be allowed. As one can imagine, the class began to erupt in complaints. You see, the class had no faith in what they had previously reviewed and without the compfort of their text books to guide them, they were no longer confident and afraid. As Christians we also tend to run into these types of obstacles in a different format. We are aliens to our world, following a different path and willing to make a difference to all who are available to lend and ear. However, I have been witness to many of my friends falling to the waste side when they are put in tough positions and finally faced with a test that the world won't allow our common resources for. Though theses types of problems may rise up, there is one person I know who can always be looked to even when the world tries to close the book on you. That person is Jesus Christ and if your willing to dedicate your life to him there is no obstacle to large to hold us down!

Clean Up

It's funny now that I think about it but someone once told me a little story that I will never forget. They said that everyones life is like a fine glass of wine. It has been carefully watched over, aged and cared for up until the moment that it hits the lips of the one who is to partake of it! However the one thing that can destroy the quality of the wine is the little poisin that everyone may deny lies in it. Though the wine may take the same color and smell, and in some cases the same taste there are poisins that may have set in the wine that are waiting to devour the one who drinks of it. Oiur lives are the same way. You go through your daily walk being the person you feel you should be but you often don't manage to notice the poisins that you put in your life that are slowly killing the friends, desires and relationhips you have worked so hard to achieve. So today take my little challenge, clean something out of your life, message me and tell me about it and then i'll do the same!

Road Kill

Have you ever looked at a dead animal in the middle of the road and wonder what they were thinking. i'm not trying to be dsigusting, but I've often wondered why they just didn't chose a side and stay there.Spritually i ask the question as well. My question echoes God's voice as well. He doesn't want us playing in the middle of the spiritual road. He wants to be either hot or cold. yet to many people play games and wear masks failing to make a total and absolute commitment to the god of all creation. In the same way that any animal is in danger, the middle of the road is also an unpretected place for christians. I f they don't know what they belive, they will be frustrated. If they can't hear God't voice they will feel powerless. That is why God wants us to get out of the middle of the road. He wants us to bee in that safe and well kept place with him. You cannot finf those things in week commitments and lowsy friendships. They are only discovered as you wallk that blessed but narrow path with God!

A Note To Your Mercy

I'm laying in bed tonight and I can't help but praise your name for the undescribable amounts of mercy and love that you have sent my way! Despite my wavering judgements and every so often slip of character, you are there to set my feet on the solid ground once again. I'm in awe of your love even when I begin to doubt your way. I know that my flaud view of my personal doings is only just a string in the ball of yarn that is collecting into a life; my life! Know this. I lay my head down tonight with the uncontrolled excitment that is tomorrow. Not only to greet a new day but to the promise of your hand guiding me through another journey, another walk, in a mercy that is so sweet and so everlasting!

Graduates

A wise person once spoke to me and a group of new graduates. He explained to us that as we all know, we are each given a certain amount of time to come in, live and then leave this world and upon doing so, will receive a tombstone. He went on saying that upon that tombstone will be two very important dates. The day that we were born and the day that we died. He then stated that while these two dates are very importanat, there is one part of the tombstone that should speak out mor than any other. That part that he spoke of, was the very thin line few notice that connects the two dates welcoming and seeing us out of this world. This line holds such a great importance because an individual is not remembered as much for they day they were born or die, but all the achievements they accomplished in between. That is how each and everyone of us should sttempt to establish ourselves. As the difference maker, or as a new change. We have to refuse to be the beginning as well as the end of the story, but instead the strong willed heartbeat that keeps it flowing in between.
